Precision Tooling for Low Flow Impeller Maintenance
The KIRIS Low Flow Impeller Wrench Set is purpose-built for efficient, damage-free installation and removal of low flow impellers with keyed drive ends. Designed as part of the KIRIS System, this toolset allows simultaneous engagement on both the Drive End and the Impeller, reducing the risk of internal component damage during service.
Ideal for low flow impeller systems, this wrench set ensures a balanced, controlled torque application, making it perfect for tight spaces and delicate assemblies. Whether you’re performing routine maintenance or emergency repair, this kit delivers the precision, safety, and compatibility needed for today’s low flow pump designs.
How the Tool Works
The wrench set is engineered to safely remove sharp-edged or damaged impellers without risking injury or internal damage to your pump. Designed for even pressure distribution, the tool engages both hands to apply torque with control and consistency. They are designed to allow the craftsman to engage the wrench in a manner that allows both hands to be free to apply torque to the system. The wrenches are designed to fit impellers with an even or odd amount of vanes. The wrenches engage in a way that distributes the pressure evenly around the eye of the impeller. This applies an even force of torque to the assembly making the most difficult to remove impellers much easier to break loose in a safe manner.
Benefits for Technicians
For machinists and other craftsmen who work with pumps, you know how difficult it can be to repair a low flow impeller pump. These expensive, heavy-duty pieces of equipment can get damaged easily if proper tools aren’t used. If you regularly work with an open type impeller, now you have access to a wrench system that will make repairs simple, painless, and safe for both you and your machinery. Our KIRIS System (Key Impeller Removal and Installation System) is a groundbreaking system designed to help you maintain your impeller pumps.
When making repairs to a low flow impeller pump, it’s easy to make mistakes that can end up warping the vanes of the impeller. Once damaged, this can eventually lead to premature pump failure. KIRIS helps you prevent these user errors and allows you to get the work done without touching any sharp-edged impellers.
Our wrench system works by evenly distributing pressure around the eye of the impeller. This enables an even force of torque to allow the impeller to simply pop off in a manner safe for the components of the pump as well as your hands.
What’s Included
Your KIRIS wrench system has all the tools you need to repair your ANSI centrifugal pump. In your KIRIS kit you will find the following components:
- A LF wrench for the smaller impellers
- A XLF wrench for larger impellers
- A 3-piece input shaft socket that fits all standard sizes and keys
How to Use the Low Flow Impeller Wrench Set
-
Remove the coupling hub and key from the pump.
-
Select the correct input shaft socket from your KIRIS kit based on your pump size.
-
Choose the corresponding key that matches the pump size.
-
Place the key on the drive end of the shaft and fit the socket onto the shaft.
-
Engage the impeller by fitting the impeller wrench on one side of the pump.
-
Attach a wrench to the squared end of the drive end socket on the opposite side.
-
Turn the drive end socket while holding the impeller in place, applying torque in the opposite direction of the impeller’s thread.
-
Remove the impeller — it should pop off smoothly due to the balanced torque application.
-
Reassemble by reversing the steps once maintenance or repairs are complete.
The KIRIS Wrench System is a complete, easy-to-use solution for centrifugal open impeller pump repairs. With a focus on safety, precision, and durability, it’s the only kit you need to maintain your pumps for long-term performance.
